It's been a minute....

Hello readers, its been a while since we've had a chance to talk. I've been nutty busy with work, but have been knitting away on everything that I can get my hands on! I've been having a love affair with hats recently, probably because they're easy to start, and quick to finish! I've been trying to find the motivation to work on one of my bigger projects (read: my blanket forever in progress) but for some reason, all I can think about is quick knits, hence all the hats I've been working on lately. I'll post a few pictures with pattern and yarn information below:

This is called Collusion, and is a Hunter Hammersen pattern. I used Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock in Intergalactic for my variegated contrast color, and the grey is Dream in Color Classy in Grey Tabby, which was left over from my Kettle Valley Shawl. The pom pom really makes this hat, and it really makes me way happier than it should!

Another hat, another (giant) pom! This is Earl Grey, which is from Clara Devine's Tea Collection. The cables on this hat kept things interesting, and the yarn (Malabrigo Rios in Whales Road) really allows them to be the star of the show! The pom is massive, and I just used most of my leftovers from the hat for it. There wasn't enough there for another adult sized hat, so I decided to go for the pom!

Other than hats, I was able to start a really fun project while my dad and I were on the road today. We're on a mini vacation in the Philadelphia area, and I decided to cast on an Age of Steam and Brass shawlette. Someone should have warned me about how quick this shawl was going to go! I'm already through the second section, and I was only knitting on it for about four hours! I'm almost sure that it'll get finished during this trip, which means that I can reward myself with something soft and wooly from one of the yarn stores in Philly, right?

Don't mind my lobster shorts, this is car knitting (and photographing) at its finest! The yarn is Madelinetosh DK in the color Oxblood, and I don't know about you, but if I see this colorway in a sweater quantity, I won't be able to help myself. Really. It's that gorgeous in person.

We have a full day of sightseeing and wandering to get to tomorrow, so until next time! Happy knitting, readers!
