The yarn is always greener on the other side

I've been test knitting a new pattern recently, and I'm absolutely in love with how it's turning out so far. The designer of the pattern is Mairlynd, and it's a hat and mitt set. I've finished one of the mitts so far, and just have the thumb left on the second one.

I was also trying out my hand modeling skills, and I think I should maybe look into making it into my career! When the pattern is officially released, I'll let you all know, and then you can check it out on Ravelry! If you're wondering, the yarn that I used is Dream in Color Smooshy, in the color Kettle dyed Green Lantern.

Speaking of test knitting, I finally got around to taking some better pictures of the Chaparral Hat that I tested for Brim Collections in early December. I really like the way this hat turned out...it's the perfect hat for the weird weather that Ohio has been having lately.

I really really love the fuschia yarn that I used for the colorwork. It's Malabrigo Mechita in the colorway Hollyhock (the grey is Queensland Llama Lace Melange in the color Woodstone). I don't really consider myself as a pink-lover, but this yarn has me convinced that I might need to rethink that. I'm already planning to use what I have leftover for the Picking Daisies shawl by Mairlynd, along with some Malabrigo Sock and some Manos del Uruguay Alegria. That one is slated for the next cast-on spot in my head, but there are definitely some other projects that need to be finished before I can even think about starting it! Have a great rest of your week, readers!
