Brioche Fever

I have finally started a brioche project, and I have to tell you, I absolutely love it. I might even be borderline obsessed. It's just so much fun to watch the double sided fabric grow, and it's ridiculously squishy already! The pattern is called Liguria, and it seems like the perfect little project for just starting with Brioche. I've just got the ribbing done now, and am just starting on the patterned section. It seems to be going well so far...I only messed up on the ribbing a few times, but I found that it was relatively easy to tink back and fix my mistakes. This is definitely not going to be my last brioche project (I might just cast on another shortly, I love it that much!) because it's just so addicting! The slip stitch yarn over purl stitch is my absolute favorite. The motions that my hand make while I do it makes me feel like a pro knitter (even though I'm definitely not).
On a different note, how is your Christmas knitting coming along? Are you ahead, behind, or somewhere right in the middle? The only Christmas knitting that I've decided to do this year are socks for my significant other, and we'll see if those are actually all finished up by Christmas Eve (unlikely). All of the other projects that are currently on my needles are for me, myself, and I. I have come to the conclusion that I am a mostly selfish knitter, and am okay with it. Perhaps one day I'll get my shit together and knit things for all the important people in my life for Christmas, but unfortunately, that day is not today. Maybe next year.
